Next Play Capital launched with Claude in the room from day one
It used to take a few hours to do what I thought was a polished pitch deck — after hours running numbers. Now I can do more in-depth projections, better design, and more polished output in less than 30 minutes.
The problem
Michael Rand already ran a brokerage across South Florida and Ohio that had rebuilt itself around AI. The next move was a second firm: Next Play Capital, a private real estate investment practice for athletes, artists, and founders whose income arrives in waves. Peak years, off-seasons, tour cycles, liquidity events, then long stretches of nothing.
The firm’s whole promise is that no two plans are alike. Every partner gets their own strategy, their own structure, their own materials. That is a presentation and underwriting load a two-market firm cannot carry by hand, and the site, the decks, and the daily research all had to be ready before the first conversation.
The turning point
Instead of standing the firm up first and adding AI later, Michael built it the other way round: Claude was set up locally on the team’s machines before the first partner meeting, and every piece of the launch ran through it.
The brokerage goes first
OneWave introduced Claude Code at Michael Rand Realty. The team rebuilt its website, shipped a Zillow-to-property-site tool, and built five agents and ten-plus skills for research, underwriting, and outreach.
A second firm takes shape
Next Play Capital is formed for careers built in waves: athletes, artists, founders. Florida and Ohio only, Rule 506(c), accredited partners, one plan per partner.
The launch site
OneWave worked with Michael to design and build nextplay.capital, an editorial, document-style site that reads like a firm overview rather than a marketing page. Firm Overview Rev 03 issued April 30, 2026.
Claude in the day to day
Claude runs locally on the team’s machines. Partner pitch decks, projections, and underwriting materials are built per partner in minutes, and the firm is accepting introductions.
Why it matters
A white-glove firm usually scales by hiring. Next Play Capital scales by tooling: one founder, two markets, and a bespoke plan for every partner, because the research, the numbers, and the presentation are produced with Claude instead of a back office.
What launching with Claude delivered
Cut vs. built
When we walk into a meeting with an athlete or a high-net-worth investor now, we're showing them a custom property site that's already live — not a PDF, not a template. Nobody at our level is doing that, and it's why we win listings against firms with ten times the headcount.
Launch your next thing with AI already inside it
We help founders stand up new firms, sites, and workflows with Claude from day one. Start with a short call.
